This sculpture was inspired by a quiet morning on the beaches of Cape Cod, where delicate wild flowers and beach roses grew effortlessly along the shoreline, their beauty softened by the weathered driftwood shaped by the sea.

The contrast of resilient blooms agiant sun bleached wood created a scene of simple, natural, elegance that stayed with me long after my visit

Wanting to preserve that memory, I created this permanent ikebana sculpture using those same design principles - celebrating space, movement and harmony with nature.

The botanicals are now not placed in water. Instead they are carefully anchored using traditional kenzan, the foundation of Japanese ikebana, allowing each stem to stand with intention while maintaning the lightness and balance that define the art form
